UHY Prostir has been providing accounting outsourcing and operational business support for “Gühring” LLC in Ukraine for 13 years—from day-to-day accounting processes and payroll to management reporting for the headquarters in Germany.

Request and goal of the cooperation

“Gühring”LLC is the Ukrainian branch of the international Gühring Group with more than 125 years of history. When the company moved into a phase of active growth in Ukraine and strengthened internal control requirements, it became necessary to transfer financial processes / the finance function to a team capable of ensuring:

  • scaling without loss of accounting quality;
  • process controllability and transparency across the financial cycle;
  • operational stability in day-to-day work;
  • readiness for new tasks and readiness for launches (projects, process changes, integrations aligned with HQ requirements).

What it looked like at the start

At the outset, the business needed a system that met the requirements of an international company operating in Ukraine and supported regular reporting in a format understandable for HQ. Key challenges included:

  • parallel workstreams and different accounting scenarios;
  • high requirements for discipline in document flow;
  • significant operational load on the accounting function;
  • the need to standardize rules and roles;
  • expectations of stable communication with HQ and a controlled financial cycle.

What we put in place

We structured accounting processes so they were stable in daily operations and predictable at the level of period closing and reporting. Specifically, we:

  • aligned accounting rules and approaches with the group’s internal requirements;
  • organized primary document flows and approval logic;
  • implemented regular control procedures to minimize errors;
  • established period-close processes and preparation of management reporting for Germany;
  • ensured full-scope support: ongoing accounting, reconciliations/settlements, payroll, reporting, and communication with HQ.

This became the foundation for controlled operational support and reduced risk within the finance function.

HR records and HR administration

A dedicated workstream covered HR records and HR administration, which must be flawless for a company operating under international standards. We delivered:

  • support for HR procedures and HR documentation workflows;
  • maintenance of HR registers and related processes;
  • advisory support on practical issues and alignment of decisions within compliance and labor law requirements.

Outstaffing as an operational support format

At the client’s request, we implemented an outstaffing model where a UHY Prostir specialist worked in the company’s office 4–5 days per week. This helped speed up document processing and coordination with internal teams, strengthen on-site control, and improve responsiveness across both accounting and HR.

Supporting launches and business changes

In cooperation with international structures, “launches” often mean not only new products but also changes in rules, processes, or HQ requirements. We supported service rollouts and organizational changes in the format of:

  • preparing accounting scenarios for new tasks;
  • aligning documentary approaches and document flows;
  • go-live support during the first reporting periods after changes to maintain operational stability.

Over these years, the company has undergone numerous external audits by independent firms and reviews by Gühring headquarters—and continues to do so periodically. We supported these processes as part of responsible accounting outsourcing for an international company in Ukraine, focusing on:
